Abstract

[Purpose/significance] The paper investigates and discusses the content, organizational structure, the ways of teaching and training, application of new technologies and the feedback model in the British academic libraries to provide some suggestions for China's academic libraries. [Method/process] The online survey was based on Qualtrics to find out the subject service content, the organizational structure, the ways of teaching and training, application of new technologies and the feedback model in the British academic libraries. Qualtrics and SPSS were used to analyze the data from 58 valid responses from 50 academic libraries. [Result/conclusion] The subject service in the UK academic libraries has extended from collection development, academic liaison, information literacy to user-centered research support. The functional structure has become the main subject service structure in the UK with the subject-based organizational structure and the dual structure still has a place in the UK. The generic skill training embedded in the curriculum is the main way of information literacy teaching. New technologies are widely applied in learning and teaching. The UK academic libraries get feedbacks for learning and teaching by many ways.
