论当代图书馆的地位挑战与价值重申——以“知识付费”的兴起与局限为参照

On the Challenge to Status and the Reaffirmation to Value of Contemporary Libraries: Taking the Rise and Limitations of the Pay-for-knowledge as the Reference

摘要: [目的/意义]数字时代的图书馆一直在面对层出不穷的竞争者,也一直在流失用户。新一轮互联网浪潮中的知识付费成为图书馆最新的竞争者,但相关研究尚未注意到知识付费在社会知识交流中的角色与影响,也没有更进一步地再回到对图书馆事业影响的思考上去。[方法/过程]使用比较法和历史研究法,以知识付费的兴起与局限为参照展开分析。[结果/结论]知识付费兴起的原因是丰富的人才资源和扁平化的知识交流市场,当代图书馆地位受到挑战的背后是图书馆员职业主体性消解和中介性消解。图书馆应当放弃"中心"思维,重新认识现阶段的历史任务,通过图书馆和图书馆员的专业性输出来重申价值与回应挑战。知识付费尚存在不能解决信息失真和阻碍信息公平两大局限。与其他知识交流市场的竞争者相比,当代图书馆仍然具有不可替代的独特价值。

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] In the digital age, libraries have been facing endless competitors and losing users all the time. The pay-for-knowledge of the new internet wave has became the newest competitor of libraries. However, related researches didn't pay attention to the role and influence of the pay-for-knowledge in the knowledge market and also didn't return to the thinking on libraries more deeply.[Method/process] This paper used the methods of comparison and historical research, and took the rise and limitations of the pay-for-knowledge as the reference for analysis.[Result/conclusion] The article holds that the rise of pay-for-knowledge is due to abundant human resources and a flat knowledge exchange market. Behind the challenge to the status of contemporary libraries is the decomposition of librarians' professional subjectivity and mediation. Libraries shall abandon the central thinking, re-recognize the historical tasks at this stage, respond the challenge to the status and reiterate the value through the professional output of libraries and librarians. Pay-for-Knowledge cannot solve the two limitations of information distortion and information fairness. Compared with other competitors in the knowledge exchange market, contemporary libraries still have irreplaceable unique value.
