Firstly, this paper generalizes the current document situation of "information analysis" with statistic analysis from the view of pan- discipline, and dissects the overall characteristics of discipline classification about "information analysis" in Chinese and foreign research. Secondly, it analyzes the relationship between "library and information science" and "information analysis" from the perspectives of concept logic, service objects, research method and historic development steps separately. Finally, based on the distributions of core journals and keywords, this paper studies the general research situation of "information analysis" in the domain of library and information science, in order to provide the academic reference for the professors, researchers and others who engage in information management, information analysis or decision support.
