On the basis of former research, this paper revalidates the applicability of the Lotka's law with large-scale data of inventor productivity distribution in patent documents. The results prove that the Lotka's law shows favorable applicability in patent documents, and the power law distribution which dominates the three basic laws of bibliometrics is also applicable to patent documents. It lays a solid theoretical basis for grand unification of metrology.
