This research surveyed and analyzed the Chinese researchers' cognitions and participative behaviors of self-archiving. The results indicated that Chinese researchers' cognitions level was high, while the level of participation was relatively low. Most researchers have no self-archiving experience, and the Sciencepaper Online has the most frequently utilization among Chinese researchers. The gender, age, professional title, region and disciplinary had varying degrees of influences on cognitions and participative behaviors.
