This paper tracks open access policies, research reports and news released by major international stakeholders in 2012. The stakeholders refer to funding agencies, research institutes and universities, government agencies and publishers. Finally, it summaries the international developments of open access practices in 2012, from three perspectives of open access awareness of stakeholders, open access policies of funding agencies and research institutions, and open access publishing practices of publishers.
