Capability Development Strategies of Academic Librarians in Transition and Change Period:A Case Study of Zhejiang Normal University Library

In view of new library development requirements, some basic trends of current academic library development are analyzed, problems in academic librarian team are discussed. In the period of transition and change, the general strategies of academic librarian capability development are as follows: the main body of the librarians should be subject librarians and embedded informationists. Individual librarian should be subject information expert. The emphasis is on the cultivation of information analysis and knowledge service experts. Data curation and service librarians are needed urgently. The IT development and application specialists should be introduced and fostered as well.
