Abstract

This study aims to analyze the supplementary material deposit policy of Library and Information Science periodicals indexed by SSCI. Taking 72 kinds of instructions to authors and online issue of LIS periodical in 2012 as sample, the paper analyzes them in five aspects including the number of journals and articles, supplementary material type, function and formats. The research shows that large publishers tend to formulate relevant policies. Though a large portion of periodicals without supplementary material deposit policy, they also accept relevant supplementary materials. This research achievement could supply proposals to a more classified and specialized supplementary material policy.
