By reviewing and analyzing of literature about social networks, knowledge innovation and open innovation, this paper attempts to explore how different types of social networks and different dimensions of their social capital influence knowledge innovation. The analysis shows that the complex relations between social networks' diverse facets and their members' capacity of knowledge innovation are complicated. The research result shows that types of knowledge tend to homogeneity within intensive network, and the types of knowledge in loose network tend to heterogeneity. According to different types of network structure, strategies of open knowledge innovation are designed. Finally, the model of open knowledge innovation in social networks is designed.
