Building of Metadata Standard Elements of Science and Technology Open Access Monograph

[目的/意义]科技类OA学术专著既有传统信息资源的特点,又有新型OA资源的特点,因此规范元数据元素集对其组织、检索、发现与利用意义重大。[方法/过程] 提取科技类OA学术专著的属性特点并介绍四大具有代表性的科技类OA学术专著出版项目;对照项目与相关元数据标准的元素集;基于检索要求,提炼出科技类OA学术专著的元数据元素集,并明确元素的必备性和可重复性。[结果/结论]精炼出16个元素,包括12个核心元素与4个非核心元素。在复用通用元数据标准元素的基础上,结合自身属性扩展了特有元素,既有利于不同元数据标准间的互操作与数据交换,又有利于OA专著的有效揭示与快速检索。

[Purpose/significance] Science and technology (sci-tech) OA monograph has both the characteristics of traditional information resources and OA resources, so it is very important to make the metadata standard elements set for its organization, retrieval, discovery and utilization.[Method/process] Firstly, this paper summarizes the attributes of sci-tech OA monograph and introduces four representative sci-tech OA monograph publishing projects. Then it analyzes the corresponding relations between elements of projects and related standards. Finally, based on the retrieving requirements, it extracts metadata elements of sci-tech OA monograph, and determines their necessary and repeatability.[Result/conclusion] It refines 16 elements of metadata standard elements set, including 12 core ones and 4 non-core ones. The metadata standard elements set reuses the elements of general metadata standard, and extends the characteristic elements combined with its attributes. It is useful both for the interoperability and data exchange of different metadata standards, and for effective reveal and quick retrieval of OA monographs.
