The Case Analysis of S&T Think Tank's Demand of Socio-economic Data and Its Construction Mechanism

[Purpose/significance] To analyze the role and social influence of the socio-economic data in the development and construction of the S&T think tanks.[Method/process] According to influence ranking in “2014 Global Go to Think Tanks Index Report”, reported by the University of Pennsylvania, and the “Think Tank Search” directory of the Harvard University library, four S&T think tanks were chosen and compared as typical cases. And the status and differences to using of socio-economic data were analyzed at the same time.[Result/conclusion] The empirical analysis showed that the socio-economic data resources are the critical infrastructure for the S&T think-tanks development, and play the important role in improving the impacts to scientific policies. And proposed the development scheme for reference.
