Analysis on Model of Introducing Altmetrics into Institutional Repository

[目的/意义]分析当前机构知识库中引入Altmetrics的主要模式和需要考虑的问题,为机构知识库引入Altmetrics的实践提供参考。[方法/过程]采用比较分析和案例分析方法,通过对香港大学学术库、匹兹堡大学机构知识库引入Altmetrics的具体实践进行分析,归纳机构知识库引入Altmetrics的模式以及各模式的特征和适用情形。[结果/结论]机构知识库引入Altmetrics有3种模式:嵌入式,直接嵌入已有altmetrics应用或代码;集成式,在机构知识库平台中集成altmetrics应用与数据;共享式,商业altmetrics平台与机构知识库共享对象元数据。机构知识库引入Altmetrics是机构知识库发展的趋势,模式二和模式三有融合的趋向。当前机构知识库引入Altmetrics时最重要的问题是在元数据结构层面要设计覆盖机构知识生产全过程的对象元数据结构。

[Purpose/significance]This paper aims to analyze the main models and considerations of introducing altmetrics into institutional repository (IR), to provide reference to formulating strategies of introducing altmetrics into IR.[Method/process]Based on the analysis of HKU Scholars Hub and the application of PlumX at the University of Pittsburgh with the methods of comparative analysis and case analysis, this paper sums up the models of introducing altmetrics into IR, and compares their characteristics and application status.[Result/conclusion]There are three models of introducing altmetrics into IR: embedding model which embeds the altmetrics codes into IR website, integrating model which integrates the altmetrics application and altmetric data into IR, and sharing model which shares the IR's metadata with the altmetrics service platform. It finds that introducing altmetrics into IR will be a trend, and model 2 and model 3 will integrate. It is most important how to design metadata when IR constructor introduces altmetrics into IR. IR should cover all the object metadata structure in the whole process of knowledge production especially the description framework of person and group capacities, and standardize the researcher ID and digital object ID. This paper suggests that the object metadata description model takes CERIF as lesson, researcher ID uses ORCID, and digital object ID promotes to register DOI or map to DOI.
