The Influence of Task Performer Characteristics on Web Information Seeking Behaviors

[Purpose/significance] Discovering the influence of task performer characteristics on network information seeking behaviors is of great significance to personalized service on the Web.[Method/process] 101 subjects are invited to participate in this experiment research. The data is collected through questionnaires and client logs are analyzed by statistical data analysis method.[Result/conclusion] The results show that there are significant effects between performer cognition need in regard to total dwell time on SERPs, and total dwell time on content pages. There are significant effects between performer prior knowledge in regard to total number of SERPs, mean first dwell time on unique content pages. There is a significant effect between performer education degrees in regard to mean dwell time of content pages. The performer gender doesn't have a significant effect on cognition style.
