[Purpose/significance] In this paper, we use the Actor-network Theory to guide the investigation of the operation mechanism of embedded information literacy education and analyze the operation mechanism of the embedded information literacy education.[Method/process] By means of individual interviews,we analyze the teaching process of the embedded information literacy education by the four steps of the translation.[Result/conclusion] The result shows that the existing problems mainly result from the cognitive variance of the actors, the lack of high level management mechanism and related rules and regulations, lack of incentives for actors to participate, the urgent need of integrating the library's resources, etc. By emphasizing the core position of the university and giving the interests to the actors, the education theory of embedded information literacy can be improved.
