[Purpose/significance] This paper aims to explore the relationship between the emotional labor and job satisfaction of university librarians, and provide reference for the work planning and human resource management practice of the university library.[Method/process] Through theoretical analysis and structural equation modeling, we discuss the influence and mechanism of three kinds of emotional labor strategies, which are surface acting, deep acting and neutral regulation,on internal satisfaction and external satisfaction.[Result/conclusion] The results show that university librarians are negatively related to their surface acting and their internal and external job satisfaction. Deep acting and neutral regulation are positively related to their internal satisfaction, but the relationship with external satisfaction is not obvious.
