[目的/意义] 为明确图书馆学研究的使命和任务，回顾新世纪以来图书馆学研究现状，剖析其存在的问题。[方法/过程] 通过对我国图书馆学研究现状的回顾，提出图书馆学研究的使命是为图书馆发展提供理论指导、方向指引和解决方案，认为我国图书馆学研究现在存在有著述无思想、有潮流无方向、有方法无目标等问题。[结果/结论] 建议今后重点研究公共图书馆、文献文化传承、全民阅读推广、图书馆服务创新和信息素养教育。

[Purpose/significance] To clarify the mission and purpose of library science research.[Method/process] Reviewed the development of library science research in China in the new century, then described the missions of library science research which include providing theory, guidance and solutions for the development of library, and pointed out the major problems in the library science research.[Result/conclusion] It suggests that library science research in the future should focus on public library, culture heritage, reading promotion, service innovation and information literacy education.
