[Purpose/significance] The research of knowledge measurement in Library and Information Science can not take the knowledge element as measurement unit, and always stays at measurement level of knowledge carrier and knowledge attribute. This paper puts forward a research idea of knowledge content measurement from the perspective of citation content analysis, which is a research direction worthy of exploration.[Method/process] This paper summarized the core advantages and key issues of knowledge measurement in Library and Information Science on the basis of combing research status of knowledge measurement in different fields, put forward the main ideas and implementation path of knowledge measurement from the perspective of citation content analysis, and looked forward to the innovative application and development direction of this research idea.[Result/conclusion] From the perspective of citation content analysis, the research of knowledge measurement can break through the long-standing limitation in Library and Information Science, truly penetrate the measurement unit from the knowledge carrier to the knowledge content, and realize the quantity, quality, value and relationship measurement of knowledge element.
