[目的/意义] 研究、探索现存图书馆的合理的修缮与扩建设计，并使之契合智慧图书馆的运行模式。[方法/过程] 从历代的图书馆的影响因素、建筑特征展开，阐述图书馆建筑的发展趋势，并以北京大学图书馆1996-1998年、2003-2005年、2017-2020年的3次修缮、扩建为例，分析其平面组合，研究修缮扩建的有效建筑设计手法。[结果/结论] 智慧图书馆的建筑实体不会消失，但内部空间将重新分配。
[Purpose/significance] Researching and exploring the reasonable renovation or expansion design of the existing library buildings to make them fit the operation mode of the smart libraries. [Method/process] Starting from the influencing factors and architectural characteristics of libraries in different times, this paper expounded the development trends of library buildings. Taking the three times of renovation or expansion of Peking University Library from 1996 to 1998, 2003 to 2005 and 2014 to 2020 as examples, this paper analyzed its plane combination and studied the effective architectural design techniques of renovation or expansion. [Result/conclusion] The architectural entities of the smart libraries will not disappear, but the internal space will be redistributed.
