The Status of the Library Entrance Education for New Users among Academic Libraries in China

This study selects 116 "Project 211" academic libraries as examples,investigates the status of entrance education service, including library entrance education programs, new users column on homepage settled or not, classified information navigation, link path, rich content and continuously updated, the development and utilizing of education platform. These six aspects of the survey data were analyzed to explore the training situation of all kinds of new patron and the potential issues in order to inspire the entry education service to be provided. We put forward four proposals, including strengthening the new graduate students and faculty education admission, building content-rich and continually updated new users column, strengthening subsequent series interactive training activities and enriching the educational content and initiatives in the content of digital library.
