Cooperative Construction of Electronic Resources of Libraries in Higher Education Mega Center

This paper analyzes the characteristics of electronic resources which are large quantity, great diversity, high expense and variety in marketing models, users’ unbalanced utilization of database resources, the condition that most libraries in Higher Education Mega Center are complete with Chinese electronic resources while lacking in foreign electronic resources, also with some resources duplication. Based on this status, it proposes relevant strategies concerning electronic resources cooperative development from the perspectives of enhancing coordinated development of electronic resources, flexibly choosing joint or division purchase, setting intellectual property rights protection rules, tracking users’ requirements for information, etc., to provide reference for rational distribution and effective utilization of resources.
