Paper Copyright Transfer Agreement

Party A (All Authors)                 Party B: LIS Press

Party A and Party B have reached the following agreement regarding the transfer of copyright for the paper titled “xxx”(hereinafter referred to as “the Paper”):

1. Nature of the Paper

The paper referred to in this agreement is an unpublished work written by Party A that Party B intends to accept for publication.

2. Rights and Obligations of Party A

·         Party A guarantees that the Paper is an original work and does not involve any disclosure of secrets. Party A shall bear all responsibility for any infringement or leakage of secrets that may occur.

·         Party A voluntarily transfers the following rights of the Paper to Party B:

    The right to compile (part or all of the Paper);

The right to translate;

The right to reproduce in print and electronic form;

The right to distribute via the internet;

The right to distribute.

·         Except as provided in Article 22 of the "Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China," Party A shall not permit others to use the rights transferred in Section 2 of this agreement in any form. However, Party A may quote (or translate) parts of the Paper in their subsequent works or compile them in an informally published collection of their works.

·         Party A should return a signed copy of this agreement within 20 days of receipt to shorten the publication cycle of the manuscript.

·         If the Paper has multiple authors, all authors must sign. If not all authors have signed, it is considered that the signing authors are authorized to represent all authors, making this agreement binding on all authors.

·         Party A guarantees that the Paper is an original work and has not been submitted elsewhere for publication.

3Rights and Obligations of Party B

·         If Party A receives a rejection notice, this agreement automatically terminates upon receipt of such notice.

·         After Party A's paper is edited and typeset by Party B, before its publication in Library and Information Service, Party B will charge Party A a one-time page fee in the following manner (  ):

1If Party A has no more than one research project, a page fee of 400 CNY per page will be charged (including offprints); for each additional research project, an extra 1000 CNY per project will be charged for the page fee (up to two additional projects allowed, meaning each article can be funded by no more than three projects); an additional 1500 CNY will be charged for color pages.

2A fixed page fee of      CNY per article.

3No page fee will be charged.

If Party B publishes the paper in another form, no further page fees will be charged to Party A.

·         After the paper is first published by Party B in "Library and Information Service" (regardless of the format), Party B will pay Party A a one-time remuneration and provide one complimentary copy of the issue. The standard for payment will adopt the following method (   ):

1A fixed amount of        CNY per article.

2A payment of         CNY per thousand words.

3Other methods             (specify).

If Party B publishes the paper in another form, no further remuneration will be paid to Party A.

·         Party B holds the copyright of the paper (including the rights for various mediums and media) and has the right to apply for the registration of the paper's copyright in various mediums and media as the applicant. Any other use of the work in "Library and Information Service" (including formats in various mediums and media), republication of the full text of the paper, excerpts, or translations or excerpts thereof, must obtain written permission from Party B.

·         The viewpoints expressed in the papers published in Library and Information Service belong to Party A personally. Party B is only responsible for processing the text of the paper. If significant changes are made, Party A must review and approve them before publication.

4Duration of Copyright Transfer: The copyright transfer for the paper shall commence from the effective date of this agreement until December 31 of the 50th year after Party B's official publication of the paper. The applicable region is worldwide.

5Two copies of the contract are made, with each party holding one. This contract becomes effective upon the signatures of both parties and remains valid for the duration specified in Section 4 of this contract regarding the copyright transfer period for the paper.

6Any matters not covered in this agreement, should problems arise, will be resolved through negotiation between the parties; if negotiations fail, the issue will be handled in accordance with the “Copyright Law of the People’s Republic of China” and other relevant laws and regulations.
