The Current Status of CALIS Depository Libraries and the Establishment of Cooperative Storage Centre

Based on the survey results to the current situations of depository libraries in the national centre, provincial centre and some members of CALIS, this paper summarizes five main factors and existing problems in the development of individual repository library. Then it further analyzes the feasibility of establishing CALIS' storage centre. From the basic construction and future development of CALIS, it designs the cooperative storage mode with collaborative collection and management sharing based on three levels of CALIS information guarantee systems. Finally, this paper discusses the management mechanism of the centre, and gives some suggestions on construction and management service of the storage centre.
