Diversification Patterns of Reading Promotion in European and American Libraries and Its Inspirations

Reading is an important cultural activity for human. Library undertakes social responsibility in people’s reading activities and reading promotion. European and American libraries have diverse strategies in reading promotion.Such as guaranting citizens’ reading right, nationwide reading atmosphere building, reading environment optimizing, diversified reading activity developing, paying great attention to the multi-dimensional cooperation etc., which drive the national reading campaign and bring huge success for the library, readers and society. From their success experience,the domestic library should pay great attention to the multi-dimensional cooperation, multiple subjects interactiving environment building, long-term sustainable development mechanism, three-dimensional reading environment constructing.
