Abstract

Through the revives and summaries of the research about the public libraries closure in China and foreign countries, taking the public library closure in H city as a case to study, the paper discusses the questions about the impact of the closing and the suggestions that may avoid public library closure or to mitigate the impact of closing, in order to provide the corresponding theoretical guidance for the public libraries closure research in the future and to provide beneficial practice reference for the relevant decision-making authorities in China. The study shows that the effects model about layers of stretch constitutes the malignant cycle chain of its closure, and the suggestions which may avoid public library closure or to mitigate the impact of closing need a holistic thinking about the distribution system and constitution model.
