Study on the Standardization of New-generation OPAC

This paper introduces the background, features and problems in the construction of new-generation OPAC. Standardization plays an important role in promoting technology innovation, popularization and promotion, and open interface of the new-generation OPAC. Its standardization includes three aspects: making the terminology standards; setting up the quality evaluation standard system of OPAC based on the existing software quality standards, and promoting the OPAC developers to obtain certification of the ISO 9000 system; establishing a set of open interface standards, which is independent on the specific implementation technology and supports the cross-platform, cross-language and easy access to the third party system.
