Document and Information Services Sharing Under the Framework of Cooperation Between Chinese Academy of Sciences and Provincial Academy of Sciences

Provincial Academy of Sciences as important scientific research institutions in a province, takes the responsibility of research and development work of the regional characteristics and local economic developing. Over a long period, the document and information service has been in the relatively backward situation, while there are more demands. Scientific personnel require to focus on access to document and information, while the decision-making and senior management demand for focusing on a comprehensive analysis. In 2012, the Chinese Academy of Sciences proposes to support the Provincial Academy of Sciences to sharing document and information services of CAS for the first time. The National Science Library starts the cooperation with PAS in the services of document resources guarantee, information literacy training, information services for strategic decision-making, service team building of document and information and so on. They develop the cooperation mechanism by taking responsibility librarian, signing a cooperation agreement and building NSL service station, and building up the union document information branch. All these actions support and ensure the effective cooperation and significant service effect.
