The paper summarizes and describes the fundamental theoretical frame of information user research in the disciplinary field of LIS, and probes into in what way information man hypothesis upgrades and transcends the present information user concept. On the basis, the paper expands and deepens further the theoretical frame of the present information user concept from the new perspective of information man hypothesis, and also points out that according to it above information man research regulation, which is the new regulation for contemporary LIS research oriented towards information society, should be constructed.
