Taking the visually impaired people as investigation objects, this paper investigates their reading situation, and social support and demand in reading by questionnaires. The result shows that the visually impaired people in China have great reading enthusiasm and can take advantage of different technical ways to read, and most of them focus on free publications. But the social support to read is still in original step. The government, library and visually impaired group should play greater role in supporting and improving the accessible reading, in order to promote nationwide reading and reflect the social equity.
