A Comparative Research on the Journal Citation Based on the Cited Life Cycle

The article proposes a new concept, cited life cycle, and a new indicator, cited ratio based on the previous research and the life cycle theory. The results show that there are some differences among the journals of American Society for Information Science and Technology, Journal of Information Science and Scientometrics in the cited life cycle. The journal of American Society for Information Science and Technology is cited in the first half of cited life cycle and Scientometrics is cited in the second half of cited life cycle. Journal of Information Science is similar to the Scientometrics in most cases.
