Abstract

Combined three methods of log analysis, questionnaire and interview, this article designs the exploratory medical search experiments, in which every participant searches and studies 2 different types of search tasks, and analyzes the characteristics and laws of exploratory medical search from perspectives of log and cognitive analysis. Log analysis explores from following aspects of the beginning phase, search term, number and length of browse in a phase, link depth and others. Cognitive analysis explores from following aspects of the cognitive load, cognitive factors, cognitive trend, concentration distribution, cognitive processing elements, etc. Finally, it establishes the exploratory medical search model.
