Development, Evolution and Innovation of Visualization Research in the Field of Library and Information Science

In order to promote the development of the visualization research, the paper explores the developing status, evolution characteristics and the approaches for innovation of the visualization research in the field of library and information science. It finds 5 research hotspots, including visualizing digital resources of library, information retrieval visualization, technologies and methods of visual analysis, knowledge structure analysis on special disciplines, and theoretical study on visualization. Visualized retrieval and bibliometric analysis are two research dimensions of the visualization research in the field of Library and Information Science, from which the future research can make innovation.
