Research on Transformative Path around Information Management Disciplines Integration

Beginning with a brief review with controversy on the transformation of the discipline integration of library, information and archives management (LIA) from 1978,the paper illustrates the underlying causes about conversion with disciplines orientation from professional to academic education. Then it develops a transformative model of four indicators which include academic(A),core fields(C),scale(S) and open(O) discipline, and demonstrates the key factors which limit the development of disciplines. What's more, it presents the research scope and theory framework as information management (IM) of academic education, and constructs a hierarchical model between IM and LIA. Suggestions are given including creating academic society to promote the integration of academic exchange environment, substituting the name of public information management to promote the integration of library science & archives, adding master of information officer to expand career covering and public responsibility, enhancing the proportion of middle and upper-disciplinary theoretical courses in the curriculum structure.
