Through foreign literature research and analysis, this paper concludes seven themes in Web-Scale Discovery Services research. The themes include concept, function analysis, usability studies, use performance, users' information retrieval behaviors, impact on users' information literacy and impact on libraries and librarians. Based on the contents of these themes, the overseas research is analyzed by three aspects which are the presence of two dimensions research, impact of Web-Scale Discovery Service's implication and research trends. Finally, the development and trend of overseas research are revealed.
