Method and Empirical Study on Revealing the Research Themes Characteristics of Research Institutions Based on Specific Keywords

In revealing the research theme characteristics of research institutions, the traditional research relies too heavily on high-frequency keywords to result in the vague and general analysis results. This paper proposes an index called institution relevancy of keywords to select the specific keywords of research institutions. As an experiment, 8 major institutions are analyzed and compared based on their specific keywords selected by the new method, to reveal their own research characteristics and different emphasis of similar research themes. The result proves that the method can effectively restore the self-positioning, research background and realistic situation of those institutions.
