Abstract

It is relatively less about the study of information encountering as one of the types of information seeking. This paper studies the information encountering based on the relevant information theoretical models, such as information encountering process model proposed by S. Erdelez's and M. P. E. Cunha, and perceptual model proposed by J. Lawley and P. Tompkins Meanwhile, it summarizeds the value and usefulness of information encountering, such as achieving the information knowledge and enhancing information literacy for personal, and help sharing information and promoting creativity for organizations.
