Development and Analysis of Co-word Analysis Method at Home and Abroad

This paper studies on the development situation of the co-word analysis at home and abroad with methods of manual interpretation, bibliometrics and comparative analysis. The study of co-word analysis is divided into theoretical and applied research by manual interpretation, including five categories of theoretical research and four levels of applied research. The general trends, documents types, reference conditions and application areas of co-word analysis study at home and abroad is analyzed with bibliometrics method. The differences of the development trends of theoretical and applied research between the world and China, the differences of activity levels and influence in various types of co-word analysis research, and the differences in specific application areas are analyzed comparatively.
