Case Study and Enlightenment of Digital Game Service in American Libraries

Abstract

The article investigated the digital games, and analyzed the current situation of digital game service of American library, gave the development status and characteristics of American library digital game service: mainly carried out by academic library, main purpose is to improving the information literacy, and high success rate. Then, divided the games into 5 types: online Q&A game, simulation game, role play game, virtual reality game and social network game, and analyzed the characteristics of different types of game. At last, the article gave 5 suggestions on how to carry out digital games, including a simple and easy-operate game interface, controlling the important concept level, ensuring the game's interesting, strengthening the feedback in the process of game, and focusing on the preliminary test feedback and the late evaluation.
