Retrospect and Prospect of Study on University Libraries Standardization

[Purpose/significance] The research analyzes the characteristics, flaws, and future direction of the study of university libraries standardization, in order to promote the development of this field and provide references for future research. [Method/process] Based on systematic review on related papers, the paper summarizes the characteristics and flaws of previous studies, and proposes approaches to make progress in future. [Result/conclusion] There are 4 research hotspots in previous studies: standards of library resources, standards of library services, standards of library management, and standards of technologies application. Deficiencies of previous studies includes several aspects such as separated from practice, lack of theoretical guidance and not enough attention to foreign standards. Future research should introduce the principles and methods of the standardization field. Systematic frame of university library standards at home and abroad should be compared. The implementation effect and mechanism of action of standards should be further studied.
