Study on eBook License Model and E-Lending Policy in Canada Libraries

[Purpose/significance] This paper introduces eBook development situation of Canada and investigates Canadian library eBook e-lending policies to provide a reference for the formulation of eBook e-lending policies of domestic libraries.[Method/process] Through literature analysis and case research, this paper summarizes Canadian library books purchase licensing model and borrowing rules. It also investigates 15 public libraries websites for eBook e-lending policies according to the rank of Canadian Public Library eBook Payment 2012.[Result/conclusion] There are more than 5 kinds of eBook purchase license model and very perfect eBook lending policies in Canadian libraries eBook purcasing and user using practices.Domestic libraries need to learn from the successful experience of Canada, which includes riching eBook puchase license models, strengthening the role of relevant association,developping more perfect e-book lending policies from the actual.
