Research on the Construction of Copyright Policy about Data Mining: Research Libraries' Position

[Purpose/significance]Copyright policy is very important for data mining in the big data era. As the documentation and information centers in universities and institutes, research libraries should develop more flexible data mining copyright policy.[Method/process]This paper makes a comprehensive analysis on the copyright policy about data mining, and analyzes the building modes of copyright license and statutory exception from perspective of national legislation and the publishers' policies.[Result/conclusion]Chinese research libraries should actively pursue copyright exceptions on data mining, and establish an effective license mechanism to improve the ability of negotiating with publishers, in order to provide more flexible and comprehensive data mining policy for researchers.
