Abstract

[Purpose/significance] This paper discusses how to design the layout of community libraries scientifically and rationally, to guarantee the effective use of public resources and provide support for the improvement of public service system of community libraries.[Method/process] This paper overcomes the limitation of traditional qualitative analysis. From a quantitative analysis point of view, two mathematical models are respectively proposed for the cases of totally new planning and supplementary planning of the new location of community libraries, based on the principles of fairness and efficiency. Following the fuzzy chance constrained programming theory, it transforms the location planning model with fuzzy parameters into deterministic mathematical programming one.[Result/conclusion] This paper illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed models by numerical examples solved by LINGO. The results provide the valuable guide for the real-life layout design of community libraries.
