Research on Scientific Data Curation System Oriented to the Fourth Paradigm of Science

Abstract

[Purpose/significance]The forth paradigm of data-driven scientific research highlights the importance of scientific data curation.Scientific data curation is a continuing improvement process with a combination of technologies and management skills.It needs a systemic knowledge system to guide specific practices of data planning and management.[Method/process]Based on the analysis of scientific data and related curation factors, this paper classifies and streams the data management system created by the international data management association.A conceptual model of scientific data curation system is provided from the management perspective, which includes 4 core management functions, 4 auxiliary management functions and a comprehensive management function.Then the function structure with its input, output and main management activities of each management module are discussed in details.[Result/conclusion]Comparing with other curation systems, it has features of clear target, and highlights and embodies the characteristics combination of technology and management fully.The structural description method makes it more orderly, systematic, graphical and scientific for the way of thinking and working steps of scientific data curation.The result will provide a theoretical reference for scientific research institutions, libraries and enterprises to implement data curation.
