Abstract

[Purpose/significance]The process pattern and evaluation of the elaborating reading promotion was designed, to provide important references on how to promote reading in university libraries.[Method/process]Through intensive literatures investigation, taking the theme activity“choose your favorite book”in Beijing University of Agriculture library as an example, and the process pattern of the reading promotion was designed.And all steps in the procedure were elaborated and analyzed, such as how to investigate readers'needs and interests, how to plan an interesting theme activity for reading promotion, how to collect the feedback of the readers in the activity, how to conclude the experiences after the activity, and so on.And special matters to be paid attention were also mentioned.[Result/conclusion]Elaborating activities of reading promotion in university libraries can stimulate readers'interest in reading, promote librarians'progress, and boost the development of libraries, and these positive effects in turn will ensure sustainable development of reading promotion activities.
