Investigation and Research on Linked Open Data Sets in Related Field of Medical Science

[Purpose/significance] The analysis and research on liked data are significantly important to describe, organize, retrieve and use data resources. The related field of medical science has a large volume data and advanced data sharing practice, and the systematic research on its linked open data sets is of significant value to sharing, managing and utilizing the data sets.[Method/process] This paper statistically analyzes 85 linked open data sets of medical related sciences from aspects of distribution in platforms, themes, formats, outgoing and incoming links and used vocabularies, then researches the practical usage of linked data in Drug Knowledge Discovery, Semantic Search and Smart Healthcare.[Result/conclusion] Consequently, the paper summarizes the features of linked data in scientific research and practice, as well as the weaknesses of linked open data in supporting semantic Web and smart healthcare, to promote further exploration and solution on related problems of linked data, such as semantic Web and Web of linked data.
