Abstract

[Purpose/significance] A practical and systematic guideline about authorship contribution in research groups is designed in order to solve the increasing problem about distributing the authorship credit for each member in a research team. [Method/process] This paper firstly defined the precondition and connotation of authorship contribution for singular scientific research achievement and concluded four authorship scenarios:equal authorship, sequence authorship, dumbbell authorship and proportional authorship. Secondly, the six-step fundamental standard and supplementary specifications were made based on the comparative analysis among well-known foreign standards. Finally, the integrated procedure of calculating authorship contribution was concluded including the corresponding procedure and formula mode in each one of those four scenarios.[Result/conclusion] This guideline integrates the early stage of the authorship standard when submitting research papers into the later stage of the authorship contribution after publishing research papers. This way provides a useful reference for distributing authorship credits of the singular scientific research achievement in a research group when considering both the quantitative method and the negotiation among members in a research team.
