Empirical Research on Semantic Description Model for Dunhuang Fresco Images

Abstract

[Purpose/significance] In order to describe and annotatethe deep semantic information contained in Dunhuangfresco digital images,we have proposed a semantic description framework(SDFDI) in previous research. An experiential research is implemented for validating the rationality of SDFDI in this paper. [Method/process] 237 literatures related to Dunhuang fresco image research are retrieved and filtered from CNKI, VIP database and Wanfang database as samples for content analysis. With the aid of artificial coding, we collected the distribution of four types of information:non-semantic information(Type A), basic semantic information(TypeB and Type C),complex semantic information(Type D). And we also calculated the matching rate of SDFDI. [Result/conclusion] According to the statistical results in the literatures of Dunhuang fresco research, these four types of information follow a normal distribution, and the matching rate also proves that SDFDIcan be used as a reference for deep image semantic annotations.
