[Purpose/significance] Competitive intelligence in the application of technology transfer is studied according to the practice of Hunan Institute of Scientific and Technical Information, in order to provide reference for commonweal scientific and technical information agencies that conduct technology transfer services.[Method/process] From the issue of technology transfer faced,the paper analyzes the role of competitive intelligence in the technology transfer, establishes a framework model and its implementation path of competitive intelligence application in technology transfer, and finally analyzes the case in Hunan Institute of Scientific and Technical Information to illustrate the effectiveness of the framework of the model.[Result/conclusion] In the process of technology transfer, the competitive intelligence is mainly to solve the information asymmetry, to resolve the lack of service personnel, and to improve the efficiency of technology transfer service. Competitive intelligence application in technology transfer including three aspects: helping monomer enterprises to develop competitive intelligence research, the formation of supply and demand and service networking, and the development of the industry competitive intelligence research. The implementation path of the application of competitive intelligence to technology transfer include cultivating competitive intelligence research team, establishing human network, conducting competitive intelligence research and organizing industry docking activities.
