Research on the Influence of Reading Legislation Abroad on Reading Promotion

[Purpose/significance] This article makes an research on the influence of reading legislations abroad on reading promotion, discussing the effectiveness of the legislation and providing some references for the national reading legislation in China.[Method/process] By the method of literature review, analysis and comparison, this article held that reading legislation abroad changed the function of the agencies, stimulated the researches of reading promotion, produced some successful projects, influenced some standards for reading evaluation, and the legislation was really effective based on the results of the evaluations. [Result/conclusion] This empirical research indicates that the reading legislation influences the reading promotion remarkably. Therefore, China should make its reading promotion law.
