Abstract

[Purpose/significance] In order to study authoritative scholars' status and roles in scientific community, this paper takes co-author network structure analysis as a viewpoint, combines network analysis with high h-index scholars' roles, explores the influence of scholars in the location from the author nodes of the network structure, and provides a new way to study scientific community. [Method/process] Taking Chinese library and information science for example, this paper selects 33 high h-index scholars as the research objects and builds a co-author network, and then the nodes centricity, aggregation and hole-structure characteristics are analyzed using network analysis technology. [Result/conclusion] The analysis of the data indicates that most of the high h-index scholars have a core position in the network and closely tie together; those scholars play important roles in scientific community, such as leading the discipline development direction, establishing and maintaining discipline standard, strengthening the scientific communication and knowledge transmission, and the cultivation of the talent.
