[Purpose/significance] Big deals cause new conflicts in purchasing academic resources. This study introduces evidence-based collection of foreign libraries in order to find a new way of library resource construction mechanism. [Method/process] Beginning from the background of the evidence-based collection (EBC) of foreign libraries, this study introduces the evidence-based collection of foreign libraries such as Nursing and NAHRS, TAMU library, VIU library. Then, it analyzes and summarizes the ways of their evidence-based collection. It gives its inspirations on the collection development to Chinese libraries. [Result/conclusion] EBC is one of the effective ways of purchasing resources. Libraries should change this mode and select an appropriate evidence method according to the situation of libraries.
